Membership

_Our dojo provides easy to follow instruction in the philosophy & techniques of several classical Japanese martial arts.  We welcome people of all ages and levels of ability from beginner to advanced. 

However, studying classical martial art is quite different from joining any local dojo, or martial art school.  Promotion is infrequent and has no relation to how long one has been training or how much one thinks they know.  It is a study for one’s own personal advancement.

Therefore, we suggest having a look at our Resources page and recommend reading more about classical Japanese martial art and their study to see if this type of study is right for you.  You may also want to contact us about observing a few training sessions before making the commitment to begin training yourself.

Admittance for training will be based on the discretion of the instructor and the following criteria.

Admittance Qualifications

  1. People with no prior history of unlawful activity
  2. People with no psychological disorders
  3. People who will not cause difficulty to other members & who will accept responsibility for injuries or sickness that may occur from practice.
  4. People who can persevere & commit to long term training
  5. People who will not use martial arts for wrong-doing.

Remittance

__Membership dues support the existence of the dojo and are NOT considered payments in exchange for instruction. 

To become a member is a privilege not a right.  Instructors and senior students will evaluate applicants according to the dojo admittance qualifications and will consider whether or not an applicant is suited to the dojo and martial training. 

We are looking for individuals that will not only benefit from our practice but will also support other students as well.  Martial arts is a cooperative study in which everyone's ability is further developed.

Registration: $30 / year
Monthly Dues: $60 / month

Other costs such as the purchase of a training uniform and practice weapons are also the responsibility of the student.  Those are to be acquired over months and years of practice.
